1. What is Order of the Ambassadors of Theotokos Family?
The Order of the Ambassadors of Theotokos family is an international Catholic community founded on 14 February
2000, the Great Jubilee Year at Adamson University, Manila, Philippines by outstanding alumni, student leaders and friends
of Adamson University to respond to the challenge of Pope John Paul II "Young people do not be afraid!"
Its former names were SPICE-Adamson University (2000-2003), SPICE & YOUTH Family (2003-2006) and Order
of the Lay Evangelizers of Jesus Christ (2004-2006).
It was on 17 March 2006 at Toril, Davao City, Philippines during the feast day of St. Patrick of Ireland,
the name was finally Order of the Ambassadors of Theotokos to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary as Theotokos or God-bearer
or Mother of God in Greek or Sancta Dei Genetrix in Latin.
2. What is Camp Silver Shield?
The Camp Silver Shield is a 50-Day retreat Camp that hones, trains and develops better the member to become
Ambassadors of Theotokos, the highest rank of membership in the Order of the Ambassadors of Theotokos family.
During this retreat camp, Catechisms, Apologetics, Sessions, Camp Silver Shield Topics of the Day and Immersion
Apostolates are being taught and experienced to members.
Talents and Skills developments such as Spanish, Journalism, Theatre Arts, Dance, Music, Culinary Arts, Painting,
Photography and English Fluency are also included for the total social development of the members.
Two of the highlights of the Camp Silver Shield are the famed Installations and the annual Tonzy Awards.
3. When and where will Camp Silver Shield 2007 take place?
The Camp Silver Shield will happen on 08 April 2007 during the Easter Sunday and will end on Pentecost Sunday
on 27 May 2007. It will take place at Davao Holy Trinity Academy, Puan, Talomo, Davao City, Philippines.
If you will pass from Davao del Sur, kindly take a ride with Davao as placard. Tell the driver to drop you
at Puan, Talomo, Davao City. Then after dropping, walk few meters towards the Nograles Park and to your right you will see
the Davao Holy Trinity Academy.
If you will pass from Bukidnon and Calinan area, kindly take a ride with Davao or Roxas Blvd. or Matina as
placard. Tell the driver to drop you at Talomo, Davao City. Take a ride bound for Toril, Davao City. Tell the driver to drop
you at Puan Then after dropping, walk few meters towards the Nograles Park and to your right you will see the Davao Holy Trinity
Academy.

4. How did the Camp Silver Shield begin?
It was in April up to May 2002 when some of the Ambassadors, the founding members of SPICE-Adamson University
accepted the invitation of the Congregation of the Mission to undergo the Vincentian Lay Mission in the isolated places in
the Philippines particularly at the Bicol region of the Philippines.
These Ambassadors joined the Vincentian Fathers, Brothers, seminarians, lay missionaries and the Daughters
of Charity.
The researches, trials, dry-run and trainings for the Camp Silver Shield were held at Denrica, Camarines
Sur, Philippines with almost 200 Bicolano youths as respondents. It was headed by Bro. Humphrey Dela Cruz Salamat, OAT.
5. Where has the Camp Silver Shield held previously?
The first 50-Day Camp Silver Shield was held in the Philippines particularly at J. Bastida Elementary School,
Dumoy, Talomo, Davao City, Philippines on 16 April – 04 June 2006. It produced eight Ambassadors, almost 20 Envoys and
more than 30 Heralds and more than 200 Ministers.
Before the 50-Day Camp Silver Shield, the Camp Silver Shields then were only 2 to 3 days. The very first
Camp Silver Shield was held at Sacred Heart Chapel, Gulf View Executive Homes, Bago, Talomo, Davao City, Philippines. It was
attended by almost 100 youth who became Ambassadors on 02 – 03 May 2003.
Then succeeding Camp Silver Shield was held at Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, Philippines (2003-2004), Makilala,
North Cotabato, Philippines (2004), Caraga, Davao Oriental, Philippines (2004), Davao City, Philippines (2004-2005).
The last 3-Day Camp Silver Shield was held at Holy Cross of Agdao, Davao City, Philippines on 25 –
27 November 2005. It produced almost 100 Ambassadors.
6. Why was the Camp Silver Shield started?
It was started to gather the youth regardless of faith and social background as a unique way of discovering
self with God’s grace and of helping the infallible Catholic Church as baptized Christians to continue the kingly, priestly
and prophetic life our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Camp Silver Shield is a unique concord, celebration of faith, brotherhood and sisterhood, survival of challenges
and hope of every Order of the Ambassadors of Theotokos family member.
7. What is the Camp Silver Shield 2007 itinerary?
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 itinerary is getting bigger and better from Catechisms, Apologetics, Sessions,
Camp Silver Shield Topics of the Day and Immersion Apostolates.
Talents and Skills developments such as Spanish, Journalism, Theatre Arts, Dance, Music, Culinary Arts, Painting,
Photography and English Fluency are better well-prepared for the total social development of the members.
The new Ambassadors for this Camp Silver Shield 2007 will be given the honors and opportunities to take part
as organizers in the upcoming international, national, regional and local apostolates such as the 1st Catholic
World AIDS Day Youth Zenith in the Philippines in November – December 2007 and the 1st Catholic Campus Journalism
Conference in 2008.
The new Ambassadors for this Camp Silver Shield 2007 will be given the honors and opportunities to be part
of the Philippine delegation for the World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney, Australia.
8. How many people will take part in the Camp Silver Shield 2007?
Approximately, almost 100 Ministers and Envoys from Davao del Sur and Davao del Norte, Philippines will be
expected to take part.
Ambassadors from various Lay Chapters will also be there.
9. Can a non-Catholic take part?
Of course, yes! As part of the Vatican II, the spirit of Ecumenism will be put into action. The Camp Silver
Shield is an invitation to all people from all walks of life without discrimination. Many non-Catholics and others have taken
part in previous Camp Silver Shield.
10. How can I prepare personally for the Camp Silver Shield 2007?
Just be yourself and ready to face surprises from the Camp Silver Shield 2007.
11. How much will it cost?
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 donation will cost only PhP 500.00 (five hundred Philippine pesos only) per Minister
and Envoy.
It can be paid in full or in partial.
12. How do I register?
Individual registration will start on 17 March 2007, the first Theotokos Courage Day. The registration will
be conducted on line, although paper-based registration will be possible for those who do not have access to computers.
The pre-registrations in Davao City were done already in Doña Carmen Denia National High School, Toril, Davao
City and Davao City National High School, F. Torres St., Davao City, Philippines in February 2007.
These possible Ministers and Envoys are already divided into 7 team and they still need to register personally
or on line.
13. What will be my rank of membership?
For non-Envoys, you are automatically given the"Minister" title, the beginner’s rank of membership.
14. What will the accommodation be like?
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 will be no ordinary retreat camp. It will be full of test, trials or challenges.
There will no foe for the interested Minister and Envoy except himself or herself.
Everything will be the test of faith and confidence. There will be home rules and regulations to be followed
by everyone. Surprise!
15. Can I leave temporarily the Camp Silver Shield 2007?
Yes, you will be allowed to leave temporarily the Camp Silver Shield provided of the following reasons:
- important family matters
- enrollment or education matters
- national election
- health reasons
- other reasonable emergencies.
Before leaving the Camp Silver Shield 2007 venue, each Minister or Envoy will have the Ambassador escort.
The Ambassador will have the responsibility to look after his guided Minister or Envoy. They will log out from the Camp Silver
Shield 2007 venue and will go back on the given time and date. Upon arrival, they will log-in to the Camp Silver Shield 2007
Secretariat Local.
16. What if I will cease the Camp Silver Shield 2007?
If any one will be permitted to cease the Camp Silver Shield 2007 because of the following reasons:
- important family matters
- enrollment or education matters
- national election
- health reasons
- other reasonable emergencies.
The Minister or Envoy or Ambassador will continue his or her remaining Sessions / Apostolates in the Camp
Silver Shield 2008.
For personal reason(s), he or she will have a talk with our Spiritual & Counseling Team for enlightenment.
17. What about security during the Camp Silver Shield 2007?
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 Secretariat Local has coordinated with the Talomo Police Station, Talomo Barangay
Council and the Office of Hon. Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, the Davao City Mayor.
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 Secretariat Local will implement strict home rules and regulations. Curfew at
10:00 PM up to 5:00 AM will be implemented.
18. What about spiritual matters?
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 Secretariat Local has informed and coordinated the Office of the Archbishop of
Davao through its Vicar General Msgr. Julius Tonel, DCD about the Camp Silver Shield and for any possible spiritual help.
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 Secretariat Local has requested spiritual guidance from Rev. Fr. Severino Capulong,
DCD, the parish priest of San Lorenzo Parish of Talomo, Davao City, Rev. Fr. Nicola Maria Martino, SVD, the Society of Divine
Vocations Formation House Rector, Catalunan Grande, Davao City, Sr. Ludivina D. Cansico, PM, the Presentation of Mary Provincial
Superior, Catalunan Grande, Davao City and Sr. Anna T. Rago, SDV, the Society of Divine Vocations’ Superior Catalunan
Grande, Davao City.
19. Will our parents and guardians be allowed to visit us?
Of course, yes! They will even have a room for them to stay overnight. They will have to register in the
Camp Silver Shield Secretariat Local before talking or seeing their households.
20. What will be the other partners of the Camp Silver Shield 2007?
The Camp Silver Shield 2007 Secretariat Local has requested any possible help from the City Social Services
Development Office of Davao City, the Department of Education Schools Division Office, Philippine National Red Cross Davao
City Chapter, Mercury Drug, NCCC, Gaisano Mall, SM Davao, Davao Warehouse Club and other religious and non-religious institutions.
21. What will I bring during the Camp Silver Shield 2007?
For Ministers and Envoys, you will be required only to bring initially the following for the Camp Silver
Shield 2007:
